The model
How managed squads work
Agencies juggle multiple clients and rotate engineers between projects. Our squads work on your codebase only. The same engineers, sprint after sprint. Think 'team extension', not 'project outsourcing'.
Freelancers usually work in isolation across multiple clients. Our squads integrate with your team day one. Slack, GitHub, standup, monitoring, on-call rotation if applicable.
Yes. Add or remove engineers with 30 days notice. The model is flexible by design.
You own 100% of the code and IP. Every line of work product is yours from day one. We sign IP assignment as part of the standard agreement.
Engagement and pricing
Commitment, billing, contracts
3 months for standard squads. After the first 3 months, billing is month-to-month with 30 days notice to cancel.
30 days written notice. No cancellation fees. We earn the contract every month.
Fixed monthly fee based on squad size and composition. Published publicly in 5 currencies on the pricing page. No hourly billing. No scope creep surprises.
Yes, with a transition fee (typically 2 to 3 months of the service value). Terms are agreed upfront in the contract so there are no surprises.
International wire, ACH (US), PIX (Brazil). Net 15 on monthly invoices. Other arrangements possible during proposal.
Yes. Mutual NDAs before discussing any proprietary information. Standard.
Process and communication
Day to day
Brazil-based (UTC-3). 4+ hours overlap with US East Coast and UK business hours. For US West Coast clients, we adjust for key meetings.
Slack for real-time, async written standups, weekly video calls for sprint planning and retros. We adapt to your existing tools.
Two ways to de-risk before committing. Option A: a 2-week Diagnostic Sprint. Option B: interview the engineers before signing. If something is off mid-engagement, we replace the engineer at our cost.
Production incidents: 1-hour response during your business hours. The squad gets monitoring tool access and participates in on-call rotation if needed.
Your project management tools (Jira, Linear, Asana). Full visibility into sprint planning, daily progress, and deliverables. Weekly demos keep everyone aligned.
Team and quality
Who you'll work with
Engineers picked to match your stack and needs. You receive profiles and interview the engineers before kickoff. Typical composition: 1 senior lead + 2 to 4 senior developers.
We handle HR and retention. If someone leaves, we backfill within 2 weeks with full handover. Zero impact on your project.
Most modern web and mobile stacks. TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, NestJS, Python, Java, PHP, C#, Go, Postgres, Redis, AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes. Other stacks: discussed during proposal.
Senior-only: 5+ years of production experience. Process: technical assessment, live coding interview, culture fit. Less than 5% of candidates make it through.
Diagnostic Sprint
The 2-week paid audit
A 2-week paid audit. Senior architect plus senior engineer review your codebase, infra, and team. You get a written report: what's broken, what to fix first, the budget required.
When you don't fully know what's broken. Pre-fundraise. Inheriting a codebase. Post-MVP, pre-scale. The sprint produces a defensible roadmap before you commit to a multi-month engagement.
Fixed price scoped before kickoff (5 currency ranges on the diagnostic-sprint page). If we recommend bringing a squad in afterward, the sprint fee is credited toward the first month.
